Sexual Harassment Policy

SEXUAL HARASSMENT

It is the policy of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) that all employees have the right to work in an environment free from all forms of harassment, including Sexual Harassment.  The LPSO does not condone and will not tolerate any harassment, and direct and immediate action will be taken to prevent such behavior.

Sexual Harassment exists when any unwelcome and unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct occurs with any or all the following conditions:

  • When submission to such conduct is either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual’s employment.
  • When submission to such conduct is used as a basis for employment decisions affecting the individual.
  • When such conduce has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.

If you encounter such abuses from a supervisor, fellow employee, or vendor of the LPSO should report the incident(s) to a Patrol Shift Leader as soon as possible so that steps can be taken to protect the employee from further harassment, and appropriate investigative and disciplinary measures may be initiated.
